I was honored and humbled to join Major Capers as he received the Medal of Honor. His story exemplifies South Carolina’s commitment to service, and his legacy is one that serves as an inspiration to all.Unfortunately, Major Capers’ heroism was overlooked when he returned from Vietnam. Yesterday, we rectified that wrong, honoring this legend with the distinction he has earned. @RepRalphNorman was one of the driving forces that allowed this to occur, and I’m grateful for his efforts.
