The greater Olympia community recently came together to celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day and honor the Squaxin Island Tribe. This event was a powerful reminder of the importance of our history and current community ties. With cultural performances, inspiring speakers and delicious food, one message stood out: “We, as Squaxin Island people, don’t have to tell you our history, our language and our traditions.
