Views in Fort Frederick State Park in Washington County Maryland. The Park land was preserved by the state in 1922, surrounding the circa 1756 colonial fort, and developed for recreation and interpretation by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. The fort was authorized by colonial Maryland governor Horatio Sharpe, as a frontier fort to protect from attacks during the French and Indian War.
