This great blue heron’s journey back to the wild has been incredible go witness, and we wanted to share a video clip from the release! After being spotted by park guests in early January, unable to fly and staying in the same spot, Alabama Wildlife Center staff was easily able to retrieve the bird as it was in a weakened state. After testing indicated the great blue heron was suffering from a heavy parasite load and septicemia, it received 6-7 weeks of treatment and recovery at AWC and was final
