Why 8 reps probably isn’t better than 6…⬇️ - 1- The final 4-6 reps before failure are the most stimulating 2- More reps is more fatiguing 3- More reps means more other negative sensations (things like a burning feeling) BUT… 1- Low reps can mean form is off 2- It’s harder to progressive overload at lower reps 3- More time loading machines THEREFORE… Do between 5 and 15 reps and it didn’t matter, so long as you are close to failure Can 5 reps be better than 8? Rep range doesn’t matter as much as people think. Anybody saying low reps for strength, moderate reps for muscle, and high reps for “tone” is fueling the misconception. You can build muscle in 5–8 reps, 8–15 reps, or even 15–30 reps… IF you’re actually training close to failure.
