This satellite imagery shows 5 tropical cyclones occurring in the Atlantic basin simultaneously on September 13 & 14. That is the first time 5 storms were registered simultaneously since 1971, nearly 40 years ago. The 5 storms included Hurricane Sally, Hurricane Paulette, Tropical Storm Teddy, Tropical Storm Vicky, and Tropical Depression Rene.
