This is the first time I have ever had an atlas moth get stuck in his cocoon like this! Unfortunately his wings will stay like this now. 2 other males emerged with out any issues 😢 Ill spray the cocoons a little more and hopefully a lot he others will emerge ok ✨Moths can get stuck in their cocoons due to a lack of an enzyme called cocoonase, which normally helps break down the silk fibers to allow for emergence.
