A new exhibition of music-themed paintings by James Michalopoulos opens April 29 at the New Orleans Jazz Museum. The retrospective, titled “From the Fat Man to Mahalia: James Michalopoulos’ Music Paintings,” will include portraits of such legends as Louis Armstrong, Allen Toussaint, and Mahalia Jackson.
