Older homes often lack soffit ventilation which leads to poor ventilation in the attic and other issues. Here's how I fixed this for my customer. I cut out and removed all the old plywood soffit, then installed Moore vents which allow air to flow into the attic. Then put aluminum soffit back up. Common problem I see with older homes is the soffit ventilation. Back when these houses were built they would have 1 -2 small soffit vents per side of the house. Eventually some homeowners wanted to make this look better so they would enclose the soffits with aluminum.
