So we had a look around this old woolen mill site.. we know theres a tunnel here ended up finding it.. its a big adit 6ft high X 12f wide big haulage adit dates to around 1840s privately owned for use at the woolen mill.. lots to see at this site, aquaducts culverts and adits all original to the mill.. the adit is collapsed about 50m in but is definitely diggable the mine is very warm due to the water being heated deep in this coal mine from the earths temperature.. but its a nice surprise to fi

So we opened this little adit up a few weeks ago.. think it was used as a dranage adit to a large stone mine.. its been blocked to back the water up but its still passable its about 4ft deep crystal clear with a hint of green and 2ft for head room.. the adit is a lot bigger that the video shows due to reflection from the adit roof making it look smaller than what it is.. we will be back to push this deeper and see where it gos.. #yorkshiremineexplorer | Adit Addicts

So we found this old shaft marked on some old maps from mid 1800s went up to have a look and ohhh is that a set of ladders going down the shaft 😁 now i wasn't expecting to see ladders.. the mine dates to around 1849 was a privately owned coal mine with the main haulage adit and spoil about 50m down the hill from this shaft totally filled in with badgers in it.. this shaft is a much later addition to the mine probably 1950s 1960s ish and the ladders are in quite a bad state worse set of iron lad
