Security-Six- Where Is The Love? - Ruger Forum
Aug 4, 2023 · I have a mid 70's blued 6" Security Six, a 4" SS Service Six that replaced a SS SP101 4.2" not too long ago. I have a late 60's 357 Blackhawk three screw I intend to replace with a Speed Six 2.75" at some point.
Bought a Security Six! - Ruger Forum
Oct 26, 2024 · I opted for a Speed Six over an SP101 even though the Speed Six needed some TLC, I liked the Security so much I got a Speed Six for ccw to go with it. I carried it today actually. I think the main difference is the GP100 has 3 locking points on the cylinder where the Six series only had 2, otherwise the grips are different and half lug vs full lug.
Ruger Security Six, Vintage 1978
Nov 27, 2023 · The -Six guns are incredible durable and accurate; in 1984 the Border Patrol tested multiple example of Security Six and Speed Six models for over 10,000 rounds of full-house 158 gr and 110 gr .357 magnum cartridges, and after flawlessly completing the test protocols, it was felt that the test examples could have been immediately issued for ...
Ruger Security Six - An American Classic - Ruger Forum
Aug 5, 2023 · For some reason, the Ruger Security Six has been a real favorite of mine. I bought a 4" blued one not long after they went on the market in 1972. I liked the gun, but didn't like the grip angle. The original ones were called low backs and had serial numbers beginning with serial numbers beginning with 150-xxx.
Security Six vs. GP100 - Ruger Forum
Jul 29, 2015 · I keep seeing posts where people say the Security-Six is lighter than the GP100 …. Not true, assuming you compare like types and barrel lengths. I have a 4" stainless 1/2 lug Security Six that weighs exactly one ounce more than my full lug stainless 4" GP100. If the Security-Six had a full lug, you could add another ounce or two.
Ruger Security Six - How to improve DA trigger?
Mar 23, 2020 · For anyone else experiencing a similar problem with their security six (or sp101 or Gp100), I would highly recommend trying out this solution. By the way: it’s worth noting that “factory new” hammers and triggers can be bought on Numrich at the moment for around $25, and hammer dogs for only $3 or so, which is part of the reason I chose ...
Ruger Security Six .357 mag - Ruger Forum
Mar 4, 2012 · As per the integrity of the Security Six, I bought mine at a G.S. in Moscow, Idaho a good number of years back. Now I am an admitted RUGER guy, but when I decided to buy - late 1970s or very early 80s - a .38/.357 (likely a RUGER) I …
Security Six cylinder advance issue - Ruger Forum
Apr 16, 2024 · Was shooting my new to me Security Six last week and had the revolver jam or fail to advance to next round multiple times. I am planning to go back to the range this week and replicate the issue with 38 and 357 rounds and may take some factory rounds as well. I have been shooting my reloads for a long time.
Security Six vs GP100 - Ruger Forum
Dec 29, 2016 · The GP-100 is a fine gun and in many ways an improvement of the earlier DA Six's. However, the old Ruger DA Six's were outstanding guns in their own right and seriously under-rated. In terms of new guns, Ruger fans lost the Security-Six, Service-Six and Speed-Six but gained the GP-100 and the SP101. They're ALL great guns and I'm not complaining.
