Fast forward to Dec. 2015 to my right replacement, except this time the surgery was done in front of my hip. Oh my gosh, the difference in my recovery was remarkable!

I am 37 and had my right hip replaced in October. Only lately have I been getting up to 10,000 steps a couple of days a week and that makes me sore. It's incredible that you didn't need crutches or a walker. I needed some sort of walking aid for 6 weeks. So don't be hard on yourself. Everyone's recovery is different and you have come so far.

Sep 12, 2017 · I cried when he told me the only option left was a total hip replacement surgery. I am only 50 and always assumed this surgery was for the elderly. After long thought, many sleepless nights - I opted for the the surgery. I wish I had been more informed as to the slow recovery because my OS said I could go back to work after 3 weeks.

You read on here people walking so many miles or doing this or that, then, sometimes recovery goes down hill. At four weeks I only walked forty minutes in one go, five and a half months before joining pilates, step aerobics and zumba classes. Take care of your hip, the healing inside will go at it's own speed. good luck with your recovery.
