Windows 11 isn't recognizing that my display can go up to 4K.

Here are some screenshots: This screenshot (taken in the Settings app) shows that the highest my monitor can go is 1080p. Jan 12, 2022 · It would be possible if the laptop had a 4k screen, and I duplicated the displays, but it would either cause downscaling, or both screens would change to 1920x1080. Even if I could render a resolution that could do 192ppi, rather than 96ppi, then it would be 1600x1200 or but would cause black pillar boxes and it would look like if it were 800x600.

Apr 21, 2024 · I just purchased Phillips 28" 4K monitors. Windows 11 recognizes the monitors, but only offers a 1980 x 1080, 2048 x 1152 (1152 x 2048 portrait) resolution for them. Their recommended resolution is 3840 x 2160, but that resolution does nor show up in Display Settings, UPDATE: I am on an HP-Envy computer, and I was using a "Pluggable Hub".

I can still change the resolution in Windows 11 to 5120 x 1440 but when I open applications or games then those applications will attempt to lock my resolution down to 2560 x 1440. Drive 4K resolution with Intel HD 4000 (Windows 10 issue)
Aug 9, 2015 · As mentioned originally - EXACT same configuration running Linux was working great driving 4K resolution. Sounds like other people (Jacob, in this thread) have the same issue. And it seems Windows 7 -> 10 suffers from same issue. For what it's worth - I have never had Windows 7 installed on this desktop, so I cannot confirm.
