A coalition of San Diego County animal advocates — from veterinarians to foster families — have answered the call to assist pets and other animals that have been affected by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles County.

Dozens of animals from local shelters will be transported to Oregon Friday to clear space for pets displaced by the Los Angeles wildfires.

From Wednesday through Jan. 26, the Bissell Pet Foundation is sponsoring an Empty the Shelters promotion, allowing the SDHS to reduce fees of adult dogs and cats.
