Just 19 days away from Week 0 of the college football season kicking off, USA Today released the preseason coaches poll top 25 on Monday. In it, Notre Dame ranked in the top-five, while one opponent snuck into the top 10 and two more finished in the top 25.

Allar was a 5-star recruit and the No. 3 overall player in 247Sports' ranking for the 2022 class. He's by far the best QB of the Franklin era. The Ohio native made positive strides under first-year offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki. His completion percentage rose from 59.9 to 66.5, and he averaged 8.4 yards per attempt compared to 6.8 in 2024.

Clemson, Miami and SMU are the only three Atlantic Coast Conference teams to crack the top 25, although Louisville, Georgia Tech, Syracuse, Duke and Florida State also received votes. The Associated Press' preseason top-25 poll is scheduled to be released on Aug. 11.
