HBO’s forthcoming Harry Potter series isn’t expected to arrive until 2027, but the network is already looking ahead to Season 2. Casey Bloys, HBO’s chairman and CEO, revealed Thursday that the writers are currently in the process of crafting the second season while Season 1 is in production.
HBO and HBO Max chief Casey Bloys showed off the brand’s upcoming slate during a press preview event at the company’s Hudson Yards headquarters in New York Thursday. The event happened to be held on the same day Warner Bros.
Speaking to Variety about the timeline of the upcoming series, HBO chairman and CEO Casey Bloys offered an optimistic outlook for Season 2. Although Season 1 is still in the midst of filming — and Season 2 technically hasn’t been green-lit — he believes the break between the two outings will be on the shorter side.
