As most followers of the Arizona Diamondbacks, and MLB in general, are aware by now, ace starting pitcher Corbin Burnes will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery next week, and will be out until at least late summer 2026.

Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Corbin Burnes will have Tommy John surgery next week, manager Torey Lovullo announced Friday ( via the Arizona Republic ). Burnes exited his start this past weekend with an elbow injury and, after tests this week, received a UCL tear significant enough to require surgery.

The Diamondbacks ace was diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right elbow, manager Torey Lovullo said Friday, and as a result, Burnes, 30, will need to undergo Tommy John surgery. The procedure will be performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles.
