A 23-year-old man faces attempted murder and assault charges after he allegedly pushed another man onto New York City subway tracks as a train approached, police say.

NYPD officers responded to an assault in progress and found that a 45-year-old man had been struck by a southbound train after being allegedly shoved onto the subway tracks.

Michael Blount, convicted child rapist, was apprehended after throwing his ex-girlfriend onto subway tracks and attempting to slit her throat.
