A critical incident declared for health and care services has been stood down, the NHS has confirmed. The incident was declared on 3 January following sustained pressure experienced at NHS Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Trust,

The number of people in hospital with flu in England continues to rise, with staff reporting they are under the same pressure as at the height of the Covid pandemic, the NHS medical director has said.
