Minnesota Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy's maiden season just got more challenging with wide receiver Jordan Addison's suspension.

In a statement released on Tuesday afternoon, the NFL announced that it has suspended Addison without pay for the first three games of this season. This is standard discipline for a first offense relating to the use of alcohol in accordance with the NFL’s policy and program on substances of abuse.

A year earlier, Addison was cited for speed and reckless driving after allegedly going 140 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone at 3 a.m. He ultimately pled guilty to a petty misdemeanor which resulted in him paying a fine and having his driver's license temporarily revoked.
