The Los Angeles Rams have expectations of contending again in the NFC West this season, but much of their hope rests on the shoulders -- or, more accurately, the back -- of veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford.

During the offseason, Stafford was rumored to be a potential candidate to leave the Rams. However, despite the rumors, the team was able to work out a two-year, $84 million deal that kept him in town for the next two years.

The Los Angeles Rams are walking a tightrope heading into the 2025 NFL season. Their hopes for a competitive campaign rest squarely on the shoulders—and, more importantly, the back—of 37-year-old quarterback Matthew Stafford.
