Some schools delayed Wednesday and forecast calls for more snow in Whatcom County
Several schools in northwest Whatcom County will be starting late on Wednesday in the face of unseasonably cold temperatures and drifting snow on rural roads. Only flurries were in the forecast overnight Tuesday, but more snow could be on the way for Wednesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Seattle.
Schools closed, delayed Thursday due to ongoing cold, snow
Blaine School District and Ferndale School District will each close for a fourth day in a row on Thursday, Feb. 6 due to the ongoing snow, ice and cold. All athletics and campus activities are canceled in those districts.
Schools closed in Whatcom County, Seattle area after Western WA snow
Public schools are closed in Bellingham, Lynden and around Whatcom County, where chilly air from Canada dipped temperatures to the teens early Monday. Whatcom Community College closed its campus, but online classes are still happening. Western Washington University’s campus was closed until 10 a.m.
