HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA - A preliminary 2.9 magnitude quake was detected close to Petrolia Wednesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

There was no tsunami threat to the Marianas from the earthquake, and no major damages or injuries were reported.

Two earthquakes struck the San Ramon region Saturday night, one day after a swarm of six quakes shook the area, authorities said.
