The Clay Fire was one of several fires that broke out in Southern California Tuesday as parts of the region sees red flag warnings through Thursday.

As of Friday morning, there are nine active wildfires burning in California and a red flag warning remains in place.

The Hughes Fire has spread over 8,096 acres after starting just before lunchtime in Los Angeles County's Castaic Lake area on Wednesday.
