Minnesota music icon Prince will be among the artists honored with a lifetime achievement Grammy in 2025. The 67th Annual Grammy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on Feb. 2nd, but the Recording Academy will honor multiple artists at the Special Merit Awards Ceremony the day before.

The Recording Academy also unveiled 2025 Special Merit Awards recipients, recognizing influential figures who shaped the music industry.

Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awards honour iconic artists, including Prince, The Clash, Frankie Beverly, and others, celebrating their transformative contributions to music's history and their lasting global influence.

Frankie Beverly, The Clash, Dr. Bobby Jones, Taj Mahal, Prince, Roxanne Shante, and Frankie Valli are the 2025 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award honorees. Erroll Garner, Glyn Johns and Tania León are the Trustees Award recipients.

The list of recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award for next year’s Grammys has been released, and it includes a number of figures who are sadly no longer with us. They include Prince, who (how can we forget?
