GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 5 Florida Gators men’s basketball team on Tuesday released their initial availability report for their road matchup against the South Carolina Gamecocks, and despite the team holding a clean bill of health up to this point, one starting guard was listed on the report.

It seemed like Wednesday was the night jubilation would break thorough. Instead, Florida’s Will Richard hit a layup with seconds left to give No. 5 Florida a 70-69 win over South Carolina (10-9, 0-6 SEC). It is the first time the Gamecocks have started conference play 0-6 since 2013-14.

The Florida Gators have some almighty representation in the NFL playoff picture heading into Championship Weekend. Of the four remaining teams, at least one pair of shoes is filled by a Florida Gator.
