China has reacted angrily to the White House's approval of $295 million in arms sales to Taiwan, according to a release Saturday from the Chinese Foreign Ministry in Los Angeles.

A spokesperson for China's foreign ministry said Beijing would take "all necessary measures" and warned the U.S. that Taiwan is "a red line that must not be crossed," Reuters reported. The aid package totals $571 million.
