WASHINGTON >> A day after Elon Musk escalated his feud with Donald Trump and announced the formation of a new U.S. political party, the Republican president’s Treasury secretary said Musk should stick to running his companies.

US treasury secretary made the comments after the Tesla boss said he had created a political party to challenge the US ‘one-party system’.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent criticized Elon Musk 's new political party, saying the world's wealthiest man wasn't a popular part of the Trump administration. Asked about Musk's move, Bessent told CNN's Dana Bash that the ideas behind the administration's Department of Government Efficiency effort, also known as DOGE, were "very popular."
