It was his first game since exiting early on Opening Day against the Marlins in Miami.
The Pirates have reinstated infielder Nick Gonzales from the 60-day injured list. To make room for Gonzales on the 40-man and 26-man rosters, infielder/outfielder Nick Solak has been sent to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Once a notable prospect with the Rangers, Solak burst onto the scene in 2019 but has floundered in his subsequent big league appearances. He hit five home runs in his first 33 big league games while drawing walks at an 11.
