A federal judge in Seattle on Thursday accused Donald Trump of ignoring the rule of law for political and personal gain as he declared an executive order that the Republican president signed seeking to curtail birthright citizenship to be unconstitutional.

The injunction issued Thursday by a judge in Seattle came a day after another injunction stemming from a lawsuit in Maryland.

President Trump considers the rule of law "but an impediment to his policy goals," the judge said, blasting the executive order to end birthright citizenship.
