HAMMOND, Ind. – A woman has died after a shooting Friday afternoon in Hammond, Indiana. The Hammond Police Department said just before 2:30 p.m., officers were sent to the area of Cleveland Street and Jackson Avenue to investigate reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a woman who had been shot multiple times.

"Residents in the area are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately," police said.

A Tangipahoa Parish deputy fatally shot a suspect, with Louisiana State Police now investigating the incident.

When the suspect was inside the Carvana, he was able to access car keys and removed several of the sets of keys that were for the cars that were on sale.

A suspect is at-large after a woman was shot to death in an incident authorities believe may be domestic-related in Hammond Friday afternoon, according to officials.
