Air India is in talks with U.S. planemaker Boeing to acquire around 10 737 MAX jets after Chinese customers started rejecting deliveries amid a trade war with the United States, two people familiar with the discussions told Reuters.

Flights from India to Europe, Canada and the US will take about two hours longer and airlines will be forced to cut payloads after Pakistan closed its airspace to carriers from its neighboring nation.

IndiGo is suspending Delhi-Tashkent and Delhi-Almaty flights until at least May 7, 2025, due to the continued closure of Pakistan's airspace for Indian carriers, forcing longer routes. Air India flights to the West may require refueling stops depending on wind conditions and aircraft load.
