Days after Waymo recalled its robotaxi fleet to prevent the cars from entering flooded areas, the company was forced to suspend freeway rides amid safety issues

As heavy rain fell on Wednesday afternoon and many of Atlanta’s roads flooded, one woman got stuck inside her driverless Waymo.

Waymo has suspended driverless car services in Houston and other major Texas cities, and in Atlanta, after one of its vehicles was stranded by flooding during heavy rains that will likely also hinder travel in a large swath of the U.

Waymo's AVs can make mistakes. And it's not the first time Waymo AVs have. The vehicles were reported to have passed stopped school buses in error earlier this year. Waymo has issued software updates to fix the issues.

The Waymo sped through a construction zone, was chased by police, then veered off the highway into a residential neighborhood during a ride from San Mateo to San Francisco.

Somewhere inside the neural net is apparently a very determined salmon. Waymo has reportedly suspended robotaxi operations in yet another city after one of its autonomous vehicles drove directly into floodwater and got stuck,

Waymo is a company working on self-driving vehicle technology. It isn't publicly traded, but you can invest in similar businesses.

The service suspension comes as Waymo has also paused operations in Atlanta and San Antonio after its robotaxis drove into flooded streets.
