The Russian government has categorically denied rumors circulating in Turkish and Arabic media outlets that Asma al-Assad, the wife of ousted Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, is seeking a divorce and planning to leave Russia.

The British wife of deposed Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad is seeking to divorce him and move back to the UK, according to reports. The Assads fled to Moscow after their regime was finally toppled in December after 24 years in power.

Assad, 49, is currently in exile in Moscow with the former Damascus dictator but is reported to be unhappy with her life under the guard of the Putin regime in Russia

Assad’s wife, Asma al-Assad has sought a divorce. This comes less than a month after the president and his family flew out of Syria after rebels linked to Hayat Tahrir-al Shams (HTS) were about to enter the capital of Damascus.

As per reports, Asma al-Assad has expressed “dissatisfaction” with their life in Russia's Moscow, where they are living after Bashar al-Assad's ouster.
