Intense weekend storms to sweep the East Coast, breaking heat dome and preventing smoky skies
Strong weekend storms are expected to bring a variety of impacts to the East Coast, including thunderstorms, hail, gusty wind and possible even a few tornadoes, causing a sense of relief from the recent heat and smoky conditions.
The most extreme solar storms to strike Earth could have greater impacts on satellites, power grids and communications than previously thought.
It should be noted, at least as of the time of posting, air quality improves dramatically the farther south of I-70 you are. Air quality improves area-wide this afternoon and evening as the smoke layer retreats to the north and northeast.
