Google users with Pixel 8a and onwards can now monitor their phone’s battery capacity via the Settings app and then selecting Battery Information. Here, users can see how many times the battery has already been fully charged, when it was manufactured, and its date of first use.

Google has announced that it is shipping an unexpected update to Pixel 4A phones this week. According to Ars Technica, the company emailed Pixel 4A owners to tell them the update will address battery performance stability but that their batteries may not last as long after it’s applied.

The Google Pixel 4a is getting a new software update that will change how the battery works. The update will start on January 8, 2025. It is still based on Android 13. The update will add new features to manage the battery.

Google has confirmed that “we have started to roll out the monthly software update for January 2025. All supported Pixel devices running Android 15 will receive these software updates starting today,
