Maple Leafs' slow start could be a blessing in disguise, former NHL head coach suggests
The former player and coach spoke about the Maple Leafs' situation in the Nov. 4 edition of the "Leafs Morning Take" podcast and argued that the team's initial ups and downs are good for the long term.
The Leafs have $3.6 million in current cap space, but no open roster spots available for him. Toronto is exploring trades involving Kampf since the offseason but has found no takers, with centers John Tavares, Auston Matthews, Max Domi, Scott Laughton, and Nicolas Roy all ahead of Kampf on the depth chart.
