Malinin headlined the United States men's figure skating team for the 2026 Milano Cortina Games, which was announced Sunday at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri. He was joined by Andrew Torgashev and Maxim Naumov as the three American competitors in the men's singles field.

Veteran ice dance pair Madison Chock and Evan Bates are in for their fourth Games together while Malinin and Glenn will make their Olympic debuts in Italy and Liu is headed for her second Games.

Meanwhile, American Nathan Chen won men’s singles gold at the last Olympics in Beijing 2022, and the current U.S. champ, Ilia Malinin, looks unbeatable this time. While the American pairs teams seem like they’ll have an uphill medal climb, ice dancers Madison Chock and Evan Bates are expected to top their podium.
