The Raiders solved their most pressing need when they traded for quarterback Geno Smith, but otherwise spent most of the first week of free agency focused on their defense. Part of that was circumstance.

The Las Vegas Raiders came into the offseason with main key defensive free agents but they've only been able to retain defensive tackle Adam Butler and defensive end Malcolm Koonce. The most important players they've lost are Robert Spillane, Nate Hobbs and Tre'von Moehrig but they've also lost another starter.
