The Louisville men’s basketball team capped off its first perfect January in 16 years with a 72-59 win over Wake Forest Tuesday night that wasn’t nearly as close as the final score would indicate. The Cardinals moved to 9-1 in ACC play and won their 10th-straight game overall thanks to a well-balanced offensive attack and a defensive effort that frustrated their visitors from start to finish.

Their Tuesday night showdown with Wake Forest was a perfect example of their heightened play over the last month. In a matchup pitting two of the top four teams in the ACC against each other, the Cardinals made the Demon Deacons look like a team that was dwelling in the league's basement.
