Vande Bharat trains could soon run on high speed, achieving the long-delayed dreams of India’s first bullet train. According to Mint, Vande Bharat trains would be upgraded from semi-high speed to high-speed trains and would be run on special corridors for the round 2 of the bullet train project.

India and Japan are close to finalising the design of the bullet trains for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) Corridor, marking a major milestone in the project. The redesigned Japanese Shinkansen trains will be adapted to suit Indian conditions, with formal approval expected soon.
