Ukraine and the United States reached an agreement over access to Kyiv's deposits of rare earth minerals, according to media reports.

Without confirming an agreement had been reached, the US president said in return for the deal Ukraine would get "the right to fight on".

The minerals deal that U.S. President Donald Trump could soon sign with Ukraine may not be the colonial-style asset grab it appears to be. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy can still turn it to his country’s long-term advantage.
