NBC Sports Philadelphia on MSNEagles training camp observations: You can always throw it to A.J. Brown• Eagles great Fletcher Cox was in attendance for practice on Saturday. So too was another former Pro Bowl defensive tackle. Gerald McCoy, who works for NFL Network, was at camp too. Those two defensive tackles have a combined 12 Pro Bowl appearances — six apiece. Cox had 70 career sacks and McCoy had 59 1/2. 2. Some depth chart notes:
Fans filled the sets of grandstands around the Lions’ practice fields, cheering on the likes of rookie running back Kye Robichaux after he trucked through a defender during a drill and chanted for linebacker Alex Anzalone, who was practicing for the first time during camp.

Much of it points at Rashawn Slater continuing to miss practice during obvious contract negotiations while head coach Jim Harbaugh remains adamant that the starting left tackle continues to battle a minor physical thing keeping him from the field.
▶ Saturday marked the first practice of the year with fans in attendance, and per usual, there was a noticeable change in the energy. Supporters in attendance gave Lions owner Sheila Hamp a standing ovation when she arrived, and later started a chant for linebacker Alex Anzalone, who returned to practice amid a contract dispute with the team.
