Organizers of the Times Square New Year's Eve celebration screwed the last crystals onto the ball that will usher in 2025.

The last of the crystal triangles that make up this year’s Times Square New Year’s Eve ball have been installed, marking the first time in 10 years that all 2,688 were replaced at once. Rapper Pitbull and inventor Joy Mangano were on hand on Friday to help the co-organizers of the 2025 New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square atop One Times Square to install the last few crystals.

The celebrations at Times Square in New York City will kick off in less than a week, with star-studded performances and an exciting countdown.

Silvia Lupone first experienced New Year’s Eve in Times Square in 2010, when she was 28. “I cannot explain how important this was to me and how I wished to experience it all my life,” said Lupone, who lives in Port Jefferson and has gone many times since. “After having done it, I am happy to say that my hopes were not misplaced.”

Starting at 11am at the Times Square Broadway Plaza between 46th and 47th Streets on Thursday, December 19, One Times Square will invite the public to change out the ball’s current Waterford Crystal triangles, which will be on a one-of-a-kind display, for the newly designed triangles for 2025—the ones that will descend on December 31.
