Donkey Kong has looked pretty much the same since Rare put out Donkey Kong Country in 1994, but it looks like Mario Kart 9 might be a turning point for the character, as he now resembles his Super Mario Bros.

Online mode was first introduced in Mario Kart Wii, but Mario Kart 8 didn't make many changes to its formula. It allows 12 players to join in online matchmaking, but aside from that, there's not a lot to it to make the online mode more interesting than racing against CPU opponents.

During today's reveal of Nintendo's new hardware, the Nintendo Switch 2, we got a brief look at a brand new game that's coming to the system: it's a new Mario Kart, and we know...next to nothing about it.
