“The Night Agent” star Gabriel Basso has opened up about what it was like playing Vice President JD Vance. Basso, 30, who portrayed Vance, 40, in the 2020 film adaptation of his book “Hillbilly Elegy,” says he finds it “kind of weird” to be a part of the “timeline” that tracks the author-turned-politician’s rise to VP.

Agent returning for its sophomore season, fans can expect plenty more “night action” from its star. Ahead of Season 2 of the conspiracy thriller series, which returns Jan. 23 to Netflix, star Gabriel Basso opened up about taking hits and doing his own stunts as FBI agent Peter Sutherland.

Basso stars in the Netflix series as FBI agent Peter Sutherland, who works in the White House as a Night Action telephone operator. He told Fallon, 50, that when the audience watches The Night Agent, he wants them to feel that his performance is believable.

Gabriel Basso is reflecting on the small part he's played in American political history. "It's kind of weird to be included in that timeline" the actor told Variety in a recent interview while discussing his role as J.D. Vance in the 2020 adaptation of the newly-inaugurated vice president's memoir, Hillbilly Elegy.
