Make way! Disney has released the first trailer for the live-action remake of “Moana,” starring Catherine Laga‘aia as the titular character. Like the original 2016 animated movie, the live-action film will once again star Dwayne Johnson as Maui,
The Moana trailer offers the first look at the denizens of Motunui, Johnson’s shape-shifting demigod Maui and the intimidating tribe of Kakamora. Moana centers on wayfinder Moana (Laga’aia) venturing beyond her island of Motunui with the help of Maui (Johnson) in an attempt to save her people.
Disney confirms Dwayne Johnson as Maui in the Moana remake, yet casting rumours grow as fans debate which actors could still appear in the new live-action film.
The teaser for the movie has just been released, and it has once again created this moment of uncertainty. Moana is one of those few modern Disney animations that has won the heart of both adults and children alike. Unfortunately, the live action already has one glaring problem.
