Ryan Donato won the opening faceoff, then played the puck into the Florida zone. Slaggert — getting his second goal in just his third game of the season — skated past two Panthers defenders, collected the puck and beat Florida goalie Sergei Bobrovsky with a backhander.

The Rockford IceHogs have been invading the Chicago Blackhawks roster lately. That tends to happen (an AHL team sending a lot of guys to the NHL) during rebuilding seasons. The latest addition to the roster for Chicago is going to be Landon Slaggert. They called him up from Rockford ahead of their game against the Minnesota Wild on Sunday night.
