Police in Oakland, California, say Laney College football coach John Beam, known from Netflix’s “Last Chance U,” has died after being shot on campus Thursday.

A senior member of the athletics staff at a community college in Oakland was shot on campus Thursday, the second time in two days the city has had a shooting at a local school.

Police were called to the athletics building on the campus of Laney College in Oakland, California, just before noon on Thursday.
