China and India agreed on Wednesday to work on easing their long-running border dispute, as the two Asian giants resumed a formal high-level dialogue for the first time in five years.

The Ministry of External Affairs, in a statement, said the SRs “provided positive directions for cross-border cooperation and exchanges including resumption of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, data sharing on trans-border rivers and border trade”.

Senior Indian and Chinese officials are set to meet in Beijing to discuss the two countries’ border dispute, resuming formal talks on the subject that have been stalled since 2020.

India and China have renewed efforts to normalize relations, emphasizing peace and stability along their contentious border. Fresh talks signal a commitment to resolving disputes and fostering cooperation.
